SKIN CANCER

The three most common types of skin cancer include melanoma, as well as non-melanoma skin cancers such as squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma.

Various risk factors may predispose your to developing skin cancers such as:

  • Skin type (light skin tone)

  • Hair colour (blonder or red hair)

  • Genetics (family history of skin cancer)

  • Immunosuppressant medications

  • Sun exposure

It is recommended that everyone wears SPF 30+ every 2 hours during all weather conditions, to reduce the risk of skin cancer formation.
